HD going head first into a massive 7-month old descending resistance line sitting at R1=$283.
One of my greatest shorts - execution wise!!Wow!
Premarket plan was to "short" the opening pop towards R1=$283, expecting a brutal rejection at that level, loss of VWAP and a complete roll-over back to opening print S1=$281. S2=$280, then S3=$278.5.
Opened strong and broke thru R1=$283.
Scaled into core/Tier 0 size slowly as it rejected $284 twice but managed to hold above R1=$283, risking $284 to the penny, expecting the break back below R1 to add more.
Took a partial stop after it held above R1 for a 2nd time and pushed towards HOD looking ready to break-out. But 3rd failed attempt to push thru $284 and it was lights out.
Reloaded initial size vs HOD=$283.88, added one momo tier for the break of R1=$283+VWAP, expecting the move to S1=$281.
Covered small in-front of yesterday's close=$282, bulk at target! Held however 40% of initial size, thinking "swing-short" if it closes weak.
1st retracement + backtest of R1=$283 always shortable. Reloaded Tier 0 in-front of VWAP and R1, risking $283.01 for the new adds, expecting to revisit S1=LOD.
Covered some at 1st higher low, re-loaded, but 2nd consecutive higher low and I bailed of the new adds. Still in with core.
2nd retracement + backtest of R1=$283 a bit more tricky. Shorted half-tier risking tight above R1=$283, added full Tier 0 thru the break of the uptrend, expecting to revisit S1=LOD.
Well we got that and new lows to cover the adds plus more core.
Cherry on top was that after the FED lol-candle, remained weak + below VWAP while everything else was pushing, so got a quick scalp short to new lows. Covered the scalp and a bit more core.
Holding 20% of initial core size as swing short as:
-- very weak close at LOD
-- potential on daily at least to $275
-- green on the name
-- sold more than 50% of size intraday.
Target $275, stop $283.01.
