This trade ended up being a really nice trade for me with +4.7 R on it. I would say that I may have taken a little bit too small of a stop loss in this situation, however the stock was pretty extended and although it fit most of my trend strategy, it didn't fit the RSI and Extended parts. I would definitely say that I was suffering from FOMO on AMZN today and was struggling with how much it was moving earlier in the day. (the range between candles didn't fit my strategy)
When I took this trade the stock had started to pause and was struggling with some indecision. What ended up making me take the trade was the fact that I felt the stock didn't have the volume momentum (either way) to counteract the downward pressure at that time. I took the stop with a very small .06 risk, under the assumption that if it dropped it wouldn't go up a much as it felt like it was literally hovering at that point or frozen in time. I ended up being right and the stock dropped .30 very rapidly. At that point I moved my stop to 90.98 in case it reversed at the even $ and as the volume was drastic enough I felt it could start a reversal. (which it did)
Ended up being a good trade, although not my favorite set up and I feel more like I got lucky vs skill on this one.
Psychology Journal:
At this point in the day I was really wanting a trade to come along that fit my playbook. This one didn't fit my playbook perfectly and I let my lack of patience and desire to not be in the RED (I was red for the day at this point) to affect my decision. I still ended up making profit here, but I would guess that if I took 10 of these I would lose more than I won.
