traded this one a few times today too many.
1) stop 7.60 - scaled out and moved my stop up to 8.10. Had i just moved it to my purchase price I could have been in for the all day move and not been stopped out.
But I micro-managed and had to re-enter.
2) stop 8.22 - scaled half at 9.32 and pulled top up to 8.62, then as it kept going I micro-managed again and moved the stop up to 9.14 and was stopped out again, but this was probably the safe move
3) as it came back up across the MAs at 9.28, stop 9.14, I wanted more and at this point I was up on the day, thinking I could increase size, and oversized my position with 3000 shares... I gave back 1/2 of what I had made all day in 3 minutes...greed and overconfidence
4) it came back up over the MAs again, and I entered in a more reasonable position size at same point with the same stop. It just ranged for a bit and as the end of the day was coming and weird news about them maybe denying the buyout came in I raised my stop to just over my entry and it eventually hit. so I made it out without losing any more, and gaining a modest amount.
Lesson Learned - Don't get cocky and oversize position and give back what you worked all day to get.
